Temp Gauge Question

Since I removed the ECM in my '86 Z (LG4 equiped), am I going to lose the Temp Gauge/sensor?

Well what pluged into the top of the water neck? Whatever it was, it got gone with the ECM harness...

It a sensor that tells the ECM what temp the car is running at. Used for Open and Closed loop scenarios, fan controls, etc...
It will not affect the way the Gauge works.
