For the suggestions on the alternator in my '87. It's fixed, but not back on yet.
As predicted here, it was a seriously dead playa' ...
But, I found a great place in Metro Detroit to get it fixed: Royal Generator in Hazel Park.
Lady on the phone knew 'em cold, and for $75, they totally rebuilt and upgraded mine, with a better stator bridge, a new regulator and a significantly larger rear bearing. Best of all they kept the minty fresh housing with the right weenie date codes and inspection stamps, so it just looks like the day it did when some guy threw it at the car in Norwood.
Oh, and did I mention this was done in less than an hour???
Going back on this weekend for a little warm weather ragtoppin and profilin'.
