Power steering sensor?
Can someone tell me what the plug in on top of the power steering sector is. Put a new cam in today and that was the $1000 question.
You should probably give more information about your car. I know that My camaro doesn't have any thing like that. But I also know that my friends Chevy Silverado does have a sensor for the p/s pump.
Keep in mind, even though these are third gen cars, they still differ from year to year.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

It's an 86 Firebird and has a electrical sensor on top of the gear box that resembles those knock sensors on the side of the engine block.
power steering pump is a big load on the engine, as a result there's a pressure sensor on one of the pump hoses to tell ecm when to raise the idle speed so the car doesn't stall.
most fuel injected f-bodies will have this sensor, but many of the carberated ones won't.

Now I know-thanks. Gotta pull motor out tomorrow-I just huffed it today so I'm gonna clean up the none needed wires and clutter so it was probably gonna get cut regardless.
