comp. slows the car at a certain speed?

i've heard of trucks that have comp. that slow down the truck after it hits a certain speed. do our camaros have that too and if so is there a way to get rid of it or make it so it won't slow the car down until a higher speed? BTW it did that to me while i was at 120 i think cuz my speedometer only goes to 110 and the stick went past it.

If you haven't messed with anything related to that on your car, then I doubt you went 120, since your car has a speed limiter that cuts the fuel when you hit 115.

ok, maybe i hit 115, but that's not the point, i want to know how to make it so the car doesn't slow at all or doesn't slow down until a higher speed.

there is a sensor that you can hook up to a switch and when the switch is on the car doesn't know how fast its going, so it just keeps climbing, but you get a code, and when the switch is off it acts normally, and the code goes away
there is as tech article on it...

Take a look at the tech articles. You will find an article that will tell you to put a toggle switch on the VSS input to the computer. When you toggle the switch the computer stops getting input from the Vehicle Speed Sensor. The computer does not know how fast you are going so it won't slow you down. The check engine light will come on (because of VSS failure) but the car should work just fine.
