Question about the relays on the firewall (driver)

What does the flat skinny relay that is mounted vertically with the plug facing away from the engine do?

something with the MAF i assume?

The other question is, what does the pink/red wire on it with the black stripe do?

Sounds like the ESC module. It's not a relay at all.

Pink/black wires in the car are typically (but not always) a 12v ign wire.
