Instrument Lights Not Working!!!
Instrument Lights Not Working!!!
One night last week I turned on my lights to find that ALL of my instrumentation lights would not work. I can turn on the dome light using the dimmer switch and I checked all fuses and found nothing blown. The instrument lights did work for about 15 minutes the the other night but are no longer working again. Is there a switch I should try replacing or am I going to have to look for a wiring short??? (nice winter project) Thanks

There is a rheostat (variable resistor) in the head light switch that controls the brightness of the instrument cluster lights. It supplies power to the 5 amp INST LPS fuse. Check to see if there is power at the fuse & that will tell you if it's the rheostat in the switch, the fuse, or an open wire after the fuse.
