ACC Short - help!!

After I got my engine back in I noticed that when I hooked up my battery it did some really strange things. I found that the 12V was shorted to ground! After a great deal of looking I found that the short was in the ACC circuit. If I remove the fuse then everything is ok.....except no accessories! Now this ACC ciruit goes to everything and their brother.....I think the problem is in the Splice (207) which is up under the dash...approx back of the tach. How do I get access to this? Do I have to pull off the dash pad, etc? I sure would like my hatch release, power windows, dome light......etc, etc, etc, back!

Did you have your engine replaced? If so I would check all of the wires that were disturbed in the process. Unless they were in that dash doing mods I would suspect the problem would be on the engines side of the firewall unless wires were yanked. I will be sluthing down a drainege problem in my car. For easy access I plan to remove the seats, dash-pad and perhaps the center console. You may want to consider the same.

Good Luck

You may want to check the ACC wire going to the starter. I had a similar problem after installing my tranny. It ended up the ACC wire was grounding to the exhaust b/c I didn't check it over too well.
