power window motor
I just did it today and it's *definitely* a two-person job... It took two hours and one trip to the hardware store. (for nuts and bolts)

I did on recently on my 92, about 45 minutes a side. If you use a peice of wood, you can prop up the window inside the door, that way the window wont come down on you when you remove the motor.

This past saturday i replaced the armature and brush housing on the driver side power window. This proved to be a lot easier than replacing the whole motor, crank assembly. There are three tabs that have to be bent out of the way so you can remove the brush housing, it also houses the bearing and is made of white plastic. Once removed you can replace whats needed or clean it up real good and put it back in. I had an extra motor that I cleaned and had ready to reinstall so it didn't take as long.
Tips to help removal and instalation:
A short(the shorter the better)flathead screwdriver to bend the locking tabs out enough to pull the motor apart.
Use stiff wire or large paper clip to hold the brushes in place while putting the armature back in the bearing housing and also for holding the armature to said housing for reinstalling.
Now to install armature in the brg. hsg. bend two short peices of wire just long enough to hold brushes in there holders to insert the armature, once the armature is installed remove wire holding the brushes,
then take another peice of the same wire and make a long enough peice to hold the arm. to the hsg. .This wire has to come out of the hole that is in the end of the hsg. next to the brg.Take special care not to bend too long of a hook on the end of the wire that is holding the arm. and hsg. together or you will never pull it out. Slide complete asm. into the rest of the motor asm and rebend tabs back into place. And don't forget to regrease the nessesary places.
Hope this helps someone.
