MSD Harness

I have a msd 6 just waiting to be installed on my formula. Is the wireing harness worth the money, or should I just hook it up?

If you are good with a soldering iron, and don't mind cutting the connectors off of the harness, then you don't need the MSD GM harness adaptor. The harness MSD GM adaptor also would make changing back to the stock setup very easy.

I second that.. You're already gonna spend too long just trying to find a place to put it. The harness is definitely worth it.

Jza's right... took me a month to figure out a spot I liked for the thing, 5 minutes to wire the power & ground, and 30 seconds to use MSD's plug-in harness.

what do yall think about your MSD's i am seriously thinking about getting one. what benefits will it have on a pretty much stock, Q-Jet, 350? and anybody have that MSD unit that lets you advance and retard your timing from inside the car. and if i could get the install process for the ignition it would be great. Thanks for all the help.

There are a number of posts on MSD related topics - search for "MSD" in the electronics section. There's one pose titled "MSD 6AL ?'s" that shows a picture of an install. An MSD-6AL has a rev limiter built in to it - a necessity - & runs about $160 from Summit, the last time I looked. The adjustable timing module gives you 15 degrees of timing adjustment latitude from inside the car - the module was about $95 from Summit, the last time I looked.
