remote start hookup?

Anyone know how hard it is to connect a remote start? I don't have an alarm (don't want one.) just want to be able to remotely start the car. Best buy quoted me between $150-180 including install. Any ideas?

TIA

$150 is about the minimum you're going to get a remote start unit installed for. at that price, optional features such as keyless entry, domelight supervision, starter anti-grind/starter kill, and remote trunk pop are not going to be hooked up.

can install a remote start system yourself if you are in good physical shape and don't mind laying under the dash for a few hours. be warned, working on car electrical systems is different than other electrical projects such as wiring your house. also if not installed properly, you run the risk of lighting your car on fire.

a wiring color code guide is avaliable in this thread:

to access the ignition switch harness, you'll have remove some of the retaining bolts from the steering column.
