starter motor serious problem

I have had this problem for awhile so I am hoping someone else can see what it is. It just will not start all the time. If a long drive or even a short one I will stop turn the key and only get a loud click. It sometimes in the day after not being driven for a day or more just not start then hours later maybe it will. The battery can be new but it still might not start it usually will if directly jumped by another car. Now the starter motor and solenoid are not bad the battery is not bad the alternator is not bad and I even put a heat shield around the starter and solenoid so it is probably not heat soak. I do not have headers yet and heat soak after not driving is impossible and it is not passkey or alarm lockout. It also fries starter motors a lot. If anyone knows the fix or if I can put a starter motor with a remote solenoid please help as this car is taking my sanity quickly I am going to break something not broken soon.

Dude I know how you feel. Drink a nice cool refreshment. Get into all the wiring you see check all grounds and connections. Man one wire can screw it up. Some dumbass on my car stuck the meter needle into the wire. F&CK that all it takes. If you don't have a volt meter I would invest. Makes life better. Hope this help

Get a long handle heavy screwdriver and hold the shaft end, when it won't start hit the starter body with the handle end. If it cranks replace or rebuild the starter.

get a heavier gauge starter wire(stocks are usually 4-6gauge) buy a 2 gauge and it will help(heat soak on main power wire) I have seen this on many engines where it would not start after having warmed up for a little bit, the wire increases in resistance as it gets hot thus causing a higher voltage drop making it either just click or not do anything, will sometimes cause the starter, battery and alternator to get fried.
