Harness Question on '86 GTA
Harness Question on '86 GTA
Hey Gang,
I have a question about the big, 2-socket harness in the engine compartment that connects through the firewall next to the power brake booster.
How does that disconnect? I need to get it off so I can remove the harness from the engine bay and I want to keep it all intact.
Thanks,
Don

There is a bolt that you will have to remove in the center of the connector. It is accessable from the engine compartment side of the connector.

Well, beats me. Registration calls it an '86 and it's definately a GTA. I've seen people clone stuff before, but usually it's just appearance mods. If this is a clone, it would have been way cheaper for the previous owner to just trade it for a "real" GTA. Stuff like the dash, rear end, brakes and that goofy overhead console thing inside would be a PITA to swap. I'm no third gen expert, but that's my take on it.

Funny, I bought a hood off a kid who's '86 GTA (vents in hood) got totalled, he was hit from the rear, and parted the car out. Too bad I ruined that hood too
