Tail light fuse keeps blowing- dark & have to go to work soon!
ok, this DEFINATELY isn't good.. i've obviously got a short somewhere in the tail lamp circuit... i keep blowing the fuse ever time i turn on the lights. i've tried 15, 25, and 30 amp fuses.. and they still blow. out of curiousity as far as how bad the short is, i used a paper clip for about 1/10th of a second, and it practically melted. im wondering a) what caused this.. b) what else is on that circuit besides the tail lights.. and c) why me.

I was also having this same problem, where my circuit was grounding out also. I dont know how similiar the camaro's and firebird's wiring is, but I found my short in a weird place. It was up near my ALDL connector and where the convenience center is (where the buzzer is). There was a big, thick wire loom of wires that had been rubbing against the interior and finally came exposed. I only found it cuz i could see the spark at night when i was looking for the short. Good luck on finding yours.

Ok, got it. the metal sesnor wire from the water temp gauge i installed was grounding out a metal box (buzzer?!) under the dash where I ran it thru the firewall. what a headache to keep taking the dash off.. thanks for the help, I would have never though to look there for the short
