TPI swap wiring question
Hi, I am swapping a '88 IROC L98 TPI into my Monte Carlo and have a question about the TPI wiring harness. I need to know what the Light brown (maybe Tan) wire (PIN D of C207) is used for. I have checked with a meter and it goes to the middle wire on the alternator. I only have an 86 Firebird manual and it does not have the same alternator. (v-Belt not serp)
Thanks,
Dan

Here's the '87 configuration - it may be the same:
Outside red wire (terminal S) - to large terminal on starter; battery power.
Middle brown wire (terminal F or I) - to 20 ampere FP FAN fuse that is hot in run only.
Outside brown wire (terminal L) - to volts indicator idiot light. (The other side of the idiot light connects to the 10 ampere gauges fuse, which is hot in run and start.

Thanks Tim. That is exactly what I needed to know. I am hoping to finish the wiring and have a running car by the end of the weekend now.
