Stumped : MSD Problem, Please help

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought a used MSD 6aL box from a friend and bought the wiring harness for it on my 89 5.7L TPI camaro automatic. I simply hooked it up and got good(I think)power and ground sources. My car ran fine with it and I could tell a better power difference with it plugged up but for no reason in the middle of just cruizing speed driving my car would die. When I coasted to the side of the road and try to turn on my engine again, the engine wont turn over.... I pop my hood and unhook the wiring harness from the coil and then plug in the factory connections and then it started fine. I did the spark test and it worked.. then when hooking the MSD back up it started fine but again after about 4 hours of driving my car died again with the same symptoms. It has done this after every time I hook the MSD up. Now I just drive with it unhooked because I am scared to drive with it. I have an ACCEL coil, aftermarket cap and rotor, new stock module, accel 8.8 wires, and bosch +4 plugs. Thanks for any information that you might have or any tips to my problems...
Thanks,
Clint

Call MSD and talk to their techs, it sounds like you have a bad unit.

Maybe the other input wire is bare and grounded somewhere? (The purple one siamesed with the green one, assuming you're not using a crank trigger).

Just a wild guess.

Does MSD have an e-mail tech line where I can send this post to?
