fuel level gauge

my fuel level gauge is pegged on full, is this a wiring/fuse problem causing to many ohms of resistance or is it the level sender in the fuel tank? any help would be most appreciated

A gage pegged at full would indicate an open circuit somewhere, or a bad gage. To test the sending unit, disconnect the wiring harness just forward of the fuel tank, then short across the terminals of the pink and black wires (coming from the passenger compartment). The gage should read empty with these two wires shorted. If so, it's either the connections that you took apart, or the sending unit. If it still reads full, then there is an open circuit between there and the gage, a broken trace on the instrument cluster printed circuit board, or a bad gage.
