defroster grid lines

defroster grid lines
Does anyone know the chemical that is used to repair defroster grid lines? I know they sell it in kits, but only in .5 ounce bottles, which is not enough to repair all my grid lines (torn off by previous owner who removed tint). Could I just heat the existing lines with a soldering gun and draw solder over them?
