I just finished restoring this 85 IROC. I swithced from a 305 TPI to an L98 TPI. I then carb'd it. My question is that know the car is done, I would like to clean up the wiring mess. The ECM is still in the car (doing *** knows what). The engine harness is pretty hacked up. My tach wont work and there is alot of extra wiring hanging under the hood. I have a pretty good understanding by searching the board. However can someone break down the harnesses that occupy our cars. I know there is a tailight harness, headlight harness, engine harness, anything else ? I would like to rip out the old engine harness and replace it with a new one (painless or used). I thought about painless since I could keep my a/c by splicing. Any basic info about the layout and maybe why my tach wont work is appreciated.
