Wireing Remote Start for '91 Z28 (color confusion)

Hello- so I finally have the power locks, trunk, and alarm system working on my new alarm system, but the remote start is giving me trouble. I've seen some posts here regarding the wiring and the colors, but the trouble is (for me anyway) that there are two connectors running down the steering column, some with the same wire colors in them, each is like a 10 pin connector, and there's purple, white, green, and others that are in both. I could probably figure it out, but I think that more than one wire needs to be properly triggered to perform a successful remote start, and I think that one needs to be grounded in order to bypass the microchip in the key. Which reminds me- I also wanted to ask, if you don't ground that wire, will that result in the engine turning but never starting, or just nothing at all unless it senses that chip? I guess what I really need is a chart (or list) showing the function of each of these wires, or at least the ones pertenent to wiring up a remote start kit. any help in figuring this out would be very helpful! Thanks in advance!

If you still have the VATS in your car, you are gonna need the proper resistor wired with a relay. Otherwise, yes, your car will just crank all day.
