Ignition Coil and Fuel Pump Wiring

I am in the process of switching from TPI to a carburetor, but when I went to hook up my ignition coil, I put a test light to the hotwire that went to my ignition coil before and there is no power when I try to crank the car. The same thing is happening with the wire that goes to my fuel pump. I was told that the wires for the ignition coil and fuel pump should both still work after removing the computer, but they are not. What could be causing this, and am I going to have to rewire my coil and fuel pump?

The power to the ignition system (pink wire to the coil and ignition module) comes from the ignition switch, and has no relation to the ECM - check the wire back through the driver's side wire feed through at the fire wall to the ignition switch. The ignition switch may be bad, as well.

The fuel pump relay coil receives power from the ECM (green / white wire), so it must be powered from another source after removing the ECM. If you had a cold start injector, you may use the wire that used to power it to power the fuel pump relay. The cold start injector power wire is purple or purple / white and comes from the ignition switch - it is hot in start. You may also use the purple wire that powers the starter solenoid to power the fuel pump relay. There is an oil pressure switch that parallels the contacts of the fuel pump relay which also powers the fuel pump, once oil pressure is above 5 psig, so the fuel pump will continue to run after the starter is disengaged with the setup described above.
