Anyone had this problem before?
My car ('90 firebird-v6 3.1L) idles fine-just had a tune up 30 miles ago. But when I take off, it dies intermittently. Now, my airbag light flashes on and off, lights dim, wipers slow, and turn signals don't flash. But I just had the battery checked-ok they said. New alternator, too. It only acts up when pushing on the gas pedal. Anyone have any suggestions where to begin looking?? Also, I have visited the helm site for a wiring diagram, but they don't have one. Anyone know how/where else to obtain one?? Your help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

If the problem did not exist prior to the tune up, I'd take it back & have them check it out.
If the problem only occurs when the transmission is in gear & pushing the gas pedal, then it may be an intermittantly opening wire that opens when the engine is torquing (moving in the motor mounts)- like the large wire going to the starter, or the ground strap between the engine & the body, or any of the two or three power feeds coming from the large lug on the starter (check the fusible links there, too).

I agree.
I would check the fusable links and grounds/ground strap first.
You could also run the leads from a voltmeter to your battery and watch the meter when you hit the gas. If battery voltage is dropping then you might have a bad alternator.
just something else to check.
