need a little help.......

I had a fire...... caused my bad wiring! I've been having wiring problems and such. and it finally caused a fire. my console is gone and my guage pod is nasty looking. so I'm going to start over! I'm looking for a brand new wiring harness, like oem that I can just plug everything in. the relay box got melted so I need all of that stuff. basically I'm gonna shell out the car, paint it, wire it, and put it back together. there is lots more I wish to do, but I'll take care of this first.....
so where can I find a brand new wiring harness??? I've see painless wiring, but it that really what i want??? I dont want to have to do a million splices with all the old plugs and conections. I'm also looking at a whole parts car, if worse comes to worse I can take the wiring out of that, I dont know exactly what it is, but I know I'm getting my interior out of it...
I also want a better spedo, this 85 max crap just sucks! whats the highest that was made???
so my list so far is:
1. wiring harness
2. new guage pod (better spedo)

any other cool suggestions???

painless wiring kit is really designed for street rods. will work in a thirdgen, but it would probably be easier to install the correct factory harness instead.

do be aware that wiring harnesses "go bad" when they sit exposed to the rain and snow. if going the used salvage yard route, try to find a car with closed interior that still has all the glass and doors intact.
