rear hatch pull down help please

my hatch motor and pulldown work fine except for the fact that i have to run to the back and open the hatch really quick or it will just pull itself back down, if i replace the struts will it open all the way without me doing anything? and i looked at my motor and the 1 of the 4 plastic tracks is broken so only half of it is there, where can i get 4 all new plastic pieces and how do i replace them? anyone have experience? thanks

Replacing my struts solved that problem.

Just saying hey (Dave91RS). I used to live there years ago, I went to Clinton High for a couple years when it was in the old building that's now the Junior High. I was just there for New Years and had the most awesome time, but, dude, Camaros suck in the snow. Maybe we could meet up sometime when I go back up there.

Oh, and about the original problem before I got sidetracked: Mine does the same thing, but only when it's cold. If it's really hot out, and I pop the release, the hatch opens itself all the way. Hehe. So it depends on the gas struts you get. Mine were $20 cheapies just so I could ditch the broomstick.

you need to check the electrical connectors the the hatch contacts with when it is closed. clean these out and that might work. try struts if that doesn't work.
