problem w/ power window wiring

I have this problem with my power windows. Some times they work and sometimes they do not. Sometimes one side will work and the other will not. Also when I was pushing the window button the volt gauge and the RMPs would dim down and the needles would move, and the cd player would dim down also. I noticed that the wires to the window button(this is the drivers side) would get real hot; just the blue wire. I know it is not the power window motor or the window button, but it is the wiring for it all. I am assuming that it is just a bad connection or a bare wire is touching something. If any of you have had this problem let me know, just to make things go alittle easier. thanks

you are near me.

those window motors get tired with age. They are not fun to replace either. Sometimes lubing the tracks helps.
Sometimes the relays go bad.

other than that i don't know.

Power window is fixed. The emergency brake cut one of the wires under the console. Just had to remove the console and fix the damaged wire.
