I have a '89 Firebird in need of a new coil, and I thought I'd upgrade The whole ignition system. It is the type which uses the seperate coil. What would be a worthwhile upgrade? Other modifications are being done (heads, manifold, exhaust etc) so I need something that will keep up. Thanks

 

stock hei ignition system is powerful enough for many modified motors. parts are relatively cheap too.

 

he's right, stock si fine. However, upgrade better wires, coil, and possibly a 6AL ignition.

that will be fine for a modified car
