complete rewire of engine bay
I'm at the stage where I'm going to rewire the entire engine bay from scratch.A lot of the original won't be going back in as the car has a carb and no emmissions,A/C etc.I pretty much have all the materials- tri-rated cable,conduit etc to do it from scratch(being an electrician helps).What I want to know is,is there anywhere on the net where I can get a wiring diagram, cable sizes,cable ratings etc.I already have a Haynes manual and was hoping for some better info.Thanks

Try ebay and look for a GM manual, sorry if that doesn't help.

The 1985 should have a very similar wiring setup as your car if not the same.
