Thinking about installing an alarm myself--opinions
Alright, I was at Best Buy the other day, and had a rather long disscussion about alarm systems. I was thinking about installing it myself, and have done one before, but this time I was going to have more options hooked up to it.
Basic options-starter disable, flashing parking lights, illuminated entry, 2 sirens *one inside, one outside*, Keyless entry, remote trunk release, battery back-up, perimeter sensor.
i've done the first 5 and had them work successfully, but the last 3 i have no expierience with. the guy that worked there was telling me that its a very difficult job to get the perimeter sensor in etc. etc. Well, i was wondering wall everyone here thought about this, or if you have any experience with it. I was thinking about doing it myself, mainly because i dont want the "pros" getting a full look at my car, but if i have to, i will take out anything that is valuable, like stereo, speakers, etc.
i have the power hatch, and power lock options already on my car. Its an 89 formula 350 w t tops, hence why i want to get the perimeter sensor, incase i run into a store real quick and dont want to pop the tops back on. Thanx for any info or suggestions you might have.

contrary to what anyone tells you, installing an alarm is a piece of cake... if you've done the first five, you will have absolutely no problem with the rest.. the main part of the install is to hide the wires, and make them look factory.. wire looms and loads of electrical tape are your friend..
