I have a 1988 GTA with the digital dash and electronic heater controls. My battery died today because the heater blower motor did not turn off when I pulled the key out. All of the functions (heater, defroster, A/C, Bi Level, etc.) all worked correctly including the temperature controls. The only thing that starts to act up when this happens are the speeds for the blower. When the blower stays on constantly the blower is in its fastest set speed. I can not slow it down at all. I tried pulling the fuse for the A/C Heater controls but the blower stayed on in it's fast position. What is going on here? I had the car jump started and drove it home. The blower started to work fine after about 15 mins. of the car being driven. Everything started working like normal. Please Help!! Could it be a shorted relay? If so where is it located? Thanks.

Sounds like the blower high speed relay, which is mounted to the blower air box, near the fan motor, under the hood. It is hot all the time & if it was shorted would act as you described.
