fusible links
fusible links
Hey everyone,
I am having some problems with the fusible link coming from my starter. My car died on tuesday on the way to work and I finally figured out that it was a fusible link. I went to Auto Zone and they only had a generic link for GM cars. The link that is on there has 2 wires coming out of it and the one I bought only has 1.
I went to pull on the link to see if it would come apart and the wire that runs towards the firewall fell out! I can't get under my car until tonight or maybe tomorrow to see where it goes. I was wondering if anyone has had a problem like this or if they know where that wire goes from the starter. Please email me with any ideas wildcat856@hotmail.com
Thanks

The single link powers the light switch, and the double links power the ignition switch and the blower high speed relay. Get two links - one for each wire - and connect each one to the large lug on the starter.
