I just recently installed a GM Delco Radio in my TA. The radio before had worked, not works, and then worked again - seemingly it had a power problem. This past week it had been raining a lot in Tennessee and I had put on a new antenna. The new radio is now experiencing the same problem - on-off-on-off - with so pattern, rhyme, or reason. I think I may have a short inside the car due to the rain ( T-tops leak from improper seal replacement ) or the fact that their is some sort of grounding issue with the new antenna and mast. I don' t really think the radio is the problem, any ideas?

 

Take a look at the clips up inside the fuse panel-if there's been a lot of fuses in & out of there, the fuse clips may be worn out & loose; otherwise your harness might have a loose pin in it. That's all I can really think of.
The antenna shouldn't affect the radio power, the radio has it's own ground lead.
