I have an 89 RS with TBI. I am converting to an 88 TPI. What all is different between the two wiring harnesses? I know about the injectors and MAF. Also, can i just take what i need from the TPI harness and add it to my TBI harness with the right tools, so i dont have to remove the harness form my car? Any advice would be appreciated. Also if someone could send me schematics for a 89 5.0 TBI and a 88 5.7 TPI i would be greatful.

From past experience, I would recommend that you replace the harness with one for that aplication - and save yourself many headaches......You will need the Helm manuals, or at least the schematic portions, for both configurations.

I took an '87 Fuel Injected 2.8 and put in in an '86. Chevy had changed most of the connectors on the sensors. The harness was still the same, just most of the connectors had been changed to a different type. These types of swaps are not things you want to take lightly. I would also recommend that you have the correct harness for the system you are swapping in, and you will still probably have to do some rework, be prepared!
