ive read lots of posts about the fan switch being on the passenger side at 6@8.......... its not on my 86 bird 350... just a rachet plug no wires,,, what is making the fan come on at 220.. were else would the switch be ?yes i have been under the car its not there help i bought a jet switch and cant find where to put it.............. thanks

It's controlled by the ECM. You may install the Jet switch in the cylinder head and connect the wire from the switch to the fan relay coil, negative side - the side that goes to the ECM - it's probably a green / white wire.

What? Just put it in the cylinder head where? What do I do if I want to run a electrical switch to turn the fan on and off manually? I bought all the electrical supplies to do this, and haven't put them in yet. I thought I knew what I was doing until I saw this..... Can you help me please? I hate seeing my Iroc get up close to 240*

There is a 1/2" NPT hole in the passenger side cyl head between cyl 6 & 8 - should have a plug in it. Pull the plug & use it for the fan switch. Same hole is on the driver's side head - between cyl 1 & 3 - has the temp gauge sender in it.
