Altenator puts out 14.4v choke light on 85 Camaro Please Help

Altenator puts out 14.4v choke light on 85 Camaro Please Help

Have 85 Camaro choke light stays on even when its warmed up. Voltage to choke is 4.46v New heat coil installed in choke. rebuilt altenator checked and its working fine. Need Help.

I also have an 86 monte ss and the same thing was driving me up a wall. the coke lite is also affected if the oil pressure switch (on the driver side next to the distributor)connection is weak or loose

Check the choke relay.

It's in the "convenience center" somewhere around the driver's knee. Is your choke working at all?

The choke opens partially on initial startup but does not open fully as the car warms up. It takes about 10 minutes for the choke to open half way. Could you describe what the convenience center looks like. Thanks for the direction Scull

Did you say the voltage to the choke is 4.46 or 14.46?

Voltage to choke is 4.46 constant.
