No electrical power except lights
I was driving yesterday when my stereo cut out and my car started missing and died. I pulled onto a side street and realized I had no electrical power except to my headlights, park lights, taillights, interior lights, horn, and hatch release. Does anyone know what this could be. I was possibly thinking a fusible link somewhere, but I am not sure where they are located. Any help would be great. Thanks

Hawk, if you're talking about your '84, check the fusible links that come off from the large starter motor terminal, there's two of them. When mine went bad on my '84, the car did the EXACT same thing yours is doing, to the 'T'. Except I was stuck in a downpour with the windows down
. They're a PITA to get to since they run vertically behind the motor, but I was able to disconnect them from the starter and pull them up.
(disregard my post if the problem is with your '01, i've never touched an LS1!)

It was on my 84. I climed underneath last night and found that one of the wires coming off the starter was laying on my exhaust and got burnt in half. I spliced in a new wire and tied it back against the starter, so it hopefully will not happen again. It was a pain working in such a tight area. Thanks for the response.
