Wiper switch not working

Wiper switch not working
Does anyone have any experience taking the column apart, or can recommend any books that explain this?
My problem is that the wiper switch on my 87 Firebird (V6) has decided to malfunction. The wipers will come on, even when in the off position. Fortunately, the delay doesn't work now either, so I just leave it there while I don't need the wipers. Also, the wiper fluid doesn't spray any more.
It's not that big of a deal, but it would be nice to have the wipers working properly. I've never taken the column apart, but I'm guessing that it's a real pain.
