Tach question...Tim??
Tach question...Tim??
I know the factory tach is off (usually reads lower than actual RPM by 1000RPMS). So if I use a MSD shift light and set it at 5000 RPMs, is it really lighting up at ACTUAL 5000? Or is it working off the factory tach? I have it plugged in to the output of my MSD6AL
thanks
thanks
If it reads lower by a set amount (1000 RPM, for example), the tach is ok, and the needle has to be reset on the shaft up by that set amount. The needle usually come off easily on the tach, but be careful, I have ruined many a gauge trying to pull off needles. Oh, the ignition module works independentely from your tach, so you are ok.
