Fusable Links?

Okay,
Last weekend I changed out my plugs on
my 86 Z28 in the process of pulling out the
old plugs on the passenger side I broke
a Fusable Link on the starter. The Fuse was marked with a 20 so I assumed it was a 20 gauge. At the Local auto store all they had was a 16 gauge so I used it. The camaro ran
great for two days, then I went start it last
night. The starter clicked a couple of times
then nothing. I automaticly assumed it was the
fuseable link, so I bought another one tried it again still nothing. Then I grabbed a new starter off the blue RS I have and swapped out
starters (dumb Idea but I was getting deseperate) still nothing. Any ideas on what I over looked or didn't do (plus the battery is fairly new)?

It sounds like the battery voltage is low. The solinoid will click a lot but the starter won't turn the engine over....battery problem.

I tried jump starting the battery, but that
didn't seem to make a difference.

Hey, thanks JPrevost!

I took the battery back to Walmart and
replaced it with a new one, the Z28 started
right up! After this I went to the nearest
brick wall and began beating my head against
it and repeating stupid, stupid, stupid.
The lesson of the day, just because a product
is still fairly new, does'nt mean its not defective.
