After installing new radio, lights won't cycle

After installing a new Sony ExPlod unit in my TA las night I experienced the following.

Immediatley on start up I blew the fuse relating to the instrument lights. My lights would motor up and on, but not down. If I took out the fuse under the dash relating to that relay and reinstalled it, they would motor down.

I rechecked all of my wiring - now I have to hold the light swith kind of half-way to 'trick' the lights to motor up and on. Going down is no problem now.

I have retraced and trouble shot the wiring over and over- the only change I can find is as follows;

There was a orange and brown plug going into the back of the orginal Delco radio. I used the orange wire as my clock/constant power source for the new unit, and I left the brown wire go. It is terminiated.

Any ideas?>

Did you connect the two orange wires together on the radio harness. If so tape them up seperatly and if you connected the orange wires to the one orange wire on the new harness, disconnect that one as well and tape it off seperately. Also make sure that there are no bare wires touching anything, if there are bare wires tape them again.
