when ever i press in my cigarette lighter i guess it blows my fuses. but it's just the lighter, i plugged in a power inverter once and nothing happened. any ideas? no big deal since i dont smoke

 

Pocket a used lighter at the junkyard, or you can pick up a new aftermarket one at the auto-parts store (which will look different).

Don't throw the lighter away, as you may want the original handle someday (it unscrews from the lighter element). But since it doesn't work, keep it in with the spare tire or something...no sense having your passengers blow the fuse by mistake.

 

i had a similar problem as well. look down inside the lighter socket, there should be two metal peices comming up like a U. one of these may be touching the side of the socket shorting the circuit and blowing the fuse.
