Hi Guys i need help!!!

Hi, i am trying to install a hypertech chip in my 1988 Trans Am GTA 305 TPI and i cant find the computer, i took the bottom of the passanger side dash off and i found a silver box, but all i see is a printed circut inside. There is no cover plate with two screws anywhere on this box. Am i missing something here? Thanks

Chris

You should not have to take anything from the dash apart. The ECM should be mounted right above the passenger kick panel. It is held in with I think two screws and it should drop right down. It will have a thin cover with two quarter inch self tapping screws and there will lie the E-prom. Remember to ground youself by touching the car frame momentarily to reduce any static electricity when handling the prom. Also disconnect ECM power when working on it.
