80mhp speedo, it flashes at 80?

80mhp speedo, it flashes at 80?
i have a 84 berlinetta with digatil gagues, my speedo goes up to 80 then flashes, can i reprogram it, or do i have to take it in and have it done??
i need to get this fixed, cause i am hiting 80 in second gear! and have no idea how fast i am going

A Berlinetta owner that is on these boards alot (Tim Burgess) has said that he knows how to re-program the dash - But I have never actually seen it work... I ended up buying a digital performance speedo to solve the flashing "85" problem !

Actually, the dash itself can't be reprogrammed, but I'm working on a scaling circuit that allows the display to read up to 136 mph by automatically switching over to KPH above 84 mph & scaling the VSS signal such that MPH values are displayed. The VHDL code is almost complete and will be targeted to an FPGA.......I just moved & everything in my lab is in complete disarray at the time being, so progress is on hold for a while......
