Rear defrost wiring question

I'm putting rear defrost on my car and I was wondering if it mattered where the relays were located in the car as opposed to the stock locations?

Not really, as long as the wire is heavy enough guage wise. Don't forget to fuse the feeder wires as well. Remember the longer the wire run the more resistance it has. Chose a wire for the maximum amount of current the circuit has to handle.
