Check Engine Light

I just recently bought a complete TPI setup off a 1985 Firebird, and want to put it in my '68 Chevelle. My question is:

How do I wire up a "check engine" light? I have the original ALDL and factory service manual for the car it came off of, but can't find very many details on the "check engine" light for the '85 F code cars. Any help would be GREATLy appreciated. Thanks!

well you could buy a elect diagram book or get one from chevy. Just buy a small orange dot light to read the codes with, there in a haynes book.

Here are the '85 diagrams on line:

In '85 I believe GM used a light driver module (transistor external to the ECM) to switch the check engine light.
