what year camaros will this work on?? mine is a 84 berlanetta with the
cabrated 305 and ever since I have owned the car it has never locked up
the converter...did my car not come with the lock up converter?? I know
its a 700r4 because I put a shift kit in it,(the converter didnt lock-up
befor installing the kit either) thanks for any info...mike

84 berlanetta...smokes when u start her up...no speedo,or tach...no blinkers or head lights...but she will burn the hell out of the tires! :-)

the lock up is your four gear overdrive, did it have overdrive or did stay in third gear.
your RPM's should have been close to 15-18 RPM's for 60 MPH if it was higher fourth gear was not locking in if it wasn't higher than it was locking in. hope this will help.

quite honestly, the easiest way to check if your TC is locking up is while driving in overdrive at around 55 to 60, lightly press the brake with your other foot while still on the gas. Just press the brake hard enough to make your brake lights come on, you should hear/feel the rpm's increase when your TC unlocks.
