how bright should dig dash be?

I'm in the middle of retrofitting a digital dash and it seems to light up at about the level you'd expect at night -I've only been able to connect up the dimmer control so far for the backlit buttons as the digital section seems to require a differenet source that I don't have on analogue dash... -it's not a big issue, but wondered how bright it should be as it's difficult to easily read in day light -it seems a little brighter on the start-up check, but the speedo bit stays bright all the time... it's a little dimmer than the std radio controls at night (just as a point of reference) -I haven't bothered to connect up the dimmer connections as I would only imagine they'd make it even dimmer???

well on my digital dash, the gages are bright but if you turn your headlights on they dim the dash lights a little for driving purposes and of course you can dim them more with the dimmer switch. hope this will help a little bit.
