How do you run bright parking lights like the late 4th gens.?

I have a Trans Am that I would like to wire up the front parking lights to be bright like the later 4th gens. I don't want to have them like daytime running lights but rather have them come on with the parking lights (like normal). I would like them as bright a light when they flash with the turn signal, still having the turn signal operational of course. Is this possible? What would I have to do to go about doing this? Thanks.

Joe

No one I've talked with has said it's possible. I'm currently working on a solution for it, but it's slow in coming. I'll email ya if I ever figger it out.

Here's a schematic for adding daytime running lights....It uses the bright filaments in the front turn signal / running lights for turn signal and DRL function. The schematic is located at:

Is it possible to switch the connecting wires on the back of the light?

To clarify this:
The end result would be the bright blinker filiment would be on all the time.
Then when you went to use your blinker, instead of getting:
"Bright - Normal - Bright - Normal - ......"
it would get:
"Dim - Bright - Dim - Bright ....."

Would this work?

Thomas.

ok your original bulb is 1097, you can buy 2097 to replace..
the difference is 1097 is 10watts, and 2097 is 20watts. it will get hotter in the lense. so maybe drill a few holes in the front with a very small , maybe 5-32" drill so air can get in, and drill a larger hole on the bottom so water can leak out that incidentally comes in..

this works, i have seen it done. but dont blame me if something goes wrong. i will not be held responsible!!
good luck

Rareroc's idea sounds good. I'm going to try it too. Always wanted to do this.

To answer Stoopalini, no this won't work because I accidentally did it when I replaced the light and when I would try to use the turn signal it would come on but not blink.

If you put a higher watt bulp in, you will have to change the flasher too. It will not work properly because the voltages going through it are wrong.
