I know that the gap is supposed to be .035 for our cars (350 TPI). Is it a good idea to bump it up to .040 if I have an MSD coil and MSD 6A. I think with the extra spark it can make the jump. I've heard that will help burn the fuel better. Any truth to that?

I run .045 on my plugs with the 6AL. That's what MSD recommended to me (actually said "increase gap by .010"). And I have no problems, and an excellent idle and unbelievable throttle response.

 

Thanks for the input. I knew I'd read it somewhere that they recomend an increase on the gap. I'd just forgot how large.
