TC lockup problem, please help???????

I need to make a manual lockup switch for my '87 Iroc. I have disconnected the ECM, so the tech article that uses the ALDL doesn't work for me. I would really like to stay away from the kits, I just want a toggle that I can control myself. Any help or suggestions would help. Also, If I try to hook up the ECM, it just blows the guage fuse, if you have any ideas on how to stop this, then I could hook it up through the ALDL. Thanks.

Try doing it through the ALDL, as long as you haven't ripped all the wiring out it should still work.

As stated above, I no longer have the ECM connected. My car is carbureted now, so no computer. But I do want to have manual control through a toggle for the TC. Anyone got any ideas?

As long as you still have an ALDL you can wire it up the same way, whether your ECM is present or not.

I thought you had to have a computer for overdrive trannys? Everytime i see someone install an overdrive tranny they install a computer with it!

A computer or vaccuum switch is required for automatic operation of the TCC. If you can live with manual operation you can just use a toggle switch.
