2 Q's 1) 3rd brake light 2) stereo

1) my third break light does not work at all. any ideas on where to start on this one?
2)Some one hacked at my stereo and i need to know what wire is supposed to go to what. They did an aftermarket stereo install and didn't use the wiring harness, they just spliced with fuses. thanks for any help

for the third brake light gonna hafta look under yer headliner, at least for my '91 i did and the same wires that run to your interior overhead light for power and ground i believe also run to your third brake light to power and ground that (maybe im wrong, was a while ago since i looked), also another wire (or a couple) run up there to tell the light when to turn on and off maybe, lol, prolly not much help, but maybe better than nothing!

Get a factory manual, good investment, it will also have all the wireing digrams for that stuff and step charts to help fix problems in the future.

a lil more bout the 3rd brake light, if im seeing everything right a believe its the yellow wire than runs from the brake switch to the 3rd brake light under the headliner, not 100% though! about stereo... not sure what stereo ya have (typical or the delco/bose deal.... i'll go with the idea u have typical cause its way easier, hehe)... yellow (display on signal) goes to radio fuse 10A, orange (clock power) is acc fuse 20A, pink (on o/p) is power antenna system, brown (dim signal) is interior lights system, gray (panel light) is interior lights system... now for speaker wires... they are.... light green (rt front spkr), dark green (rt front spkr), tan (left front spkr), gray (left front spkr), brown (left rear spkr), yellow (left rear spkr), dark blue (right rear spkr), light blue (right rear speaker), black (ground).. im sorry i forgot which color went to pos and neg of the speaker, but wont take u long to figure it out, hope all this garbage helps out in some small way!

if your third brake light is in the spoiler, check the spring-loaded terminal plate next to the latch. sometimes the connections need to be cleaned.

also, there was a post last month or the month before where someone had the same stereo situtation, and got a comprehensive reply with a description of all the speaker wires.
