has anybody had this problem? i can turn the key forward but not backwards to the off position. can somebody help me out?

 

yea its your ingition all gunked up and getting stuck, spray graphite into the ignition and around the sides and it should take care of the problem

 

i had this problem and getting the key out was just tough and i worked it around for about 5 mins until i got it loosened up...
as for the car not stop giving itself gas...is it carbuerated? mine is and my gas cap got messed up holding in all the pressure so it was constantly feeding gas to the car
if its TPI i would check into your fuel pump or linkage from your gas pedal to the engine to make sure nothing is stuck

I know this sounds obvious, but make sure your shifter is all the way in park..sometimes they stick
